This morning I went to check my oil before work and noticed my oil cap fell off! There was oil all over that half of the bay. I was pretty pissed. I didn't lose that much as I checked the dipstick and saw that it still almost at the top of the operating range. This must have happened at some point yesterday because I noticed that the car was riding a little rough yesterday on the way home, probably from unmetered air getting into the head. The cap was on all the way. My mom's Honda ran the same way when the tech at the Honda dealership forgot to put the cap on after an oil change.
Has this ever happened to anyone? I changed the oil in the car a couple weeks ago and put 6.25 qrts in. I would guess I probaby lost about .20 qrts. Is there anything I should worry about? I left the car home today and cleaned the engine bay when I got home.
