anyone ever hear of oil getting pushing out the dipstick tube, popping the cap and going all over the engine? 302 heads shaved ported, comp cams shaft(same #'s as E cam) roller rockers, edlebrock carb intake combo were just installed, never did this before, vacuums are hooked up, any ideas?

Sounds like you have compression in your crankcase-probably a broken ring.

A compression check will let you know which cylinders you need to look at (more than the others) when you take the engine apart.

I'm afraid taking the engine apart is in your future.

Hopefully it's just a popped head casket blowing off into the crankcase.

I would like to think it was something simple as overfilled oil. that could explain the oil out the dipstick but not out of the cap.

try easy checks

if you dont have a compression check gage you you mite be able to pull your spark plugs check for oil build up them and i dentify a closer location to your problem aera .if your blowing oil out the oil fill cap and the dipstick at the same time, your getting alot of blow by . almost as if the head gastick was damaged when insta lled and wasn't noticed and assembly continude. good luck .mabye check and see kind pressure your oil pump is pushing.to the top end of your motor.your getting out the dip stick and the oil fill cap. is it flowing into your pvr valve as well?

Just in case, if you happened to plug off any vents on your pcv, it will do the same thing. Or a stuck pcv valve will do the same.
