Oil pan removal

Anybody ever replace an oil pan or pump in a 69 with a 351 windsor?

Did you drop the center section, or juct jack the motor way up?

If you dropped the center section, was it easy to bolt back up?

I am a little apprehensive about removing a structural support piece.

dropping the crossmember is the easiest way to do it, and it goes in and out really easy, nothing to worry about

bnickel is right, no need to raise the motor, just drop the cross member, maybe un-do the joint at the idler arm and pass side tie-rod to give yourself more room if you have power steering. it should be fairly easy.
