Oil Pan Tap?

I'm preparing for my supercharger install, and I bought a universal oil return fitting from www.dssracing.com....Has anybody else used one of these?...I want to know if they actually make the oil pan modification any easier and if there are any other recommendations for the return line. I'd appreciate any input.

From what I can tell, it looks like you need to cut a hole into the oil pan and then attach the backing plate to it. Is this correct? If so, you'd have to drop the pan, which would require you to drop the k-member as well. What's your hesitation w/ tapping the pan?

You puting on a Vortech blower? Go to www.vortechsuperchargers.com and read the manual for the install - the oil pan tap instructions are very detailed and purty much all you need to know... However, I would advise instead of using silicone on the threads use JB weld, this will insure that the fitting ain't going no where. Also, it's hard to find a tap wrench that will fit a 3/8" Pipe tap, so if you can't find one just use a 11/16" (i think) socket and socket wrench T handle.
