I measuresd my Oil pickup with the oil pan and it came out to be a 1/2" and it is suppose to be 3/8". I tried hitting it with a piece of wood to bend it that extra 1/8" but was unsuccessful. I was afraid to use a torch on it or pry it up. Anyone been in this situation?

Also I have a deep sump canton oil pan and it has its own dipstick on the oil pan. What do I use to plug the ford dipstick hole on the block?

To plug the old dipstick hole it would be best to tap the hole and install a threaded plug, but a glob of silicone might work.

I had to bend my pickup tube a little as well. I would think that as long as you don't try to bend any welds on the tube, all should be well. That is all I did.

Seen them heated with a torch maaaany times. Works perfect, and you're not stressing the metal as much as bending it cold would be.
