Oil pressure

was wondering what should the pressure be at on my guage because for some reason it is jumping was wondering if you call could help oh and by the way im new to this site my name is johnny and currently a member of the south texas mustang club i drive an 86 thanks.

First off welcome aboard, there is a lot of good information on here and a lot friendly people. You might want to add some of the information about your car to your signature so people can help you with questions. As far as the oil pressure, my autometer gauge usually reads around 30-40 psi at idle and jumps up to around 60-70 psi when i'm getting on it.

If it is a stock guage, make sure that the wire is tight on the sending unit.

I would check the oil pressure with a mechanical guage just to be safe

What range is it jumping in??

its jumping from like 25 to 55 around that area. and its a aftermarket guage.
