Ok so I've never done this before but I've heard from multiple sources that you should take apart a new oil pump and de-bur the edges of the gears and basically blueprint the oil pump. Is this really needed? I am going to be running a melling oil pump.

You SHOULD but when i did my rebuild i didnt. I wish i did do it but i didnt have the time and tools. I still have good oil pressure and all but its good just for peace of mind and longevity. If you do, check the housing to outer rotor clearance, pump cover flatness, top of rotor to housing clearance and deburr all the edges, you can also debur the oil filter side of the block to help oil flow.

Well I'm doing a setup almost similiar to yours so how long have you been running without problems? How much power are you putting out also?

There is a multiple page write up on doing this in one of this months Mustang mags. It was the mag that is focussed on the first generation Mustang, Mustangs and Fords? I can't remember the name right now. Hit the news stand, and you should be able to find it.
To date that is the only written documentation I have found on oil pump blueprinting. The rest of the books that I have found just say to do it, and don't define what is involved.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
