I'd like to get a pan, pickup and dipstick for my all new motor. I have a couple of questions, though.

1.

I've looked around, but haven't found someone selling an oil pump pickup. Where sould I get one from, and how much is it going to cost. I plan on using an OEM pan. FRPP makes a kit (#M-6675-A50) with a pan, pickup, and dipstick for $105.00. Which would work, but I've seen used pans sell on ebay for about $10-30. Add in a new pickup ($30??????), and it's much less. I think that the dipstick would not fit with my (ordered, but in transit) MAC longtubes, anyway. Which leads to...

2.

What dipstick arrangement will be needed with MAC longtube headers? Will the FRPP dipstick (part #M-6750-C303) fit (as I already have one)? OEM?? The one included in the kit M-6675-A50? If so, that kit would most likely be the easy solution to all 3.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Rick

The factory dipstick will work just have to do a little clearancing above the bolt slot for it to fit around the headers but you have to do this with any aftermarket header whether it be long tube or shorties. So no special dipstick is needed, MAC has an illustration in the install instructions that shows where to do the clearancing on the mounting tab.

As far as a pick up they are about $30 from your local parts store.

I put in some mac longtubes on my 94 bout agust last year and I just ended up bending the stock tube a little and it works fine. no problems. I put the headers in my self and let me tell you it was tricky but it was well worth it. Just make sure you check the header bolts about two weeks after you get them installed.
