I took The dizzy out and I herd soemthing fall. I thought it was just the dizzy hitting the block. So today I put the new dizzy in and theres no oil Pressure. I look and to my surprise theres nothing there to pump oil!!!!:bang: :bang: What the **** do I need now?????

I believe you have to get it out from the pan. Which may mean removal....:( of the pan. I dunno if you can just leave the old shaft in the pan and get a new one....Thats a thought.

Double check the distributor hole in the block to make sure the shaft did indeed come off. Good luck to you. Maybe someone else has an alternative?

I would try using a magnet to get it out one of the oil pan drain holes. Then you could use a magnet and drop it back in place through the distributor hole. It's the not ideal way but it would save you from pulling the pan. You wouldn't be able to keep the retainer on the shaft, and everytime you pull the distributor it will most likely unseat the shaft. My shaft retainer moved, so whenever I pull my distributor I have to reseat the shaft in the pump. Fortunately I don't have any more engine mods planned, so I won't be pulling the distributor any time soon...hopefully. Good Luck

It did come off. Man this is gay!!!! Well Im pulling the pan of to be safe. What kind of pump should should I put on?? Stock one??? I know a stock pump is fine for my combo. But I defitnetly dont want this to happen again!!!!

You may want to get a new oil pump driveshaft - there is a keeper on it that keeps it in the oil pump so that it does not drop out like yours did.

Like as not, you can slide the keeper back down but it is only a matter of time before it happens again.

As for the oil pump, a standard volume one will work just fine.

Good luck man, having to pull the oil pan is going to suck. :)

Yes it is!!! I've done it once and I didnt even remove the k member. Just enough so I could remove something I dropped and it sucked.

Is their a how to on the install???

I don't have a howto, but I think I would be tempted just to pull the engine out of the bay just enough to get the oil pan off, removing the kmember sounds like fun... NOT (borat). :)

Might be a good time for a 1piece felpro oil pan gasket if you don't already have one.

Put a dab of silicon in the corners.

Follow the torque specs in your shop manual or find them here - http://www.mustang-tech.org/wiki/94-95_Mustangs_Torque_Specs

Your oil pump will come with a new gasket.

Take pictures so you never forget the good time! :-D

I saw the pump out of a box and I saw that it has nothing to hold it down. So Im just gonna try to fish it out with a magnet. If all else fails Ill put a heavy duty magnet on the pan and buy a new shaft

I had another thought.

Have you ever seen those flexible things that are about 2 feet long with
3 fingers on one end and a button on the other end.

The fingers are normally closed tight but when you push the spring
loaded button the fingers open.

Maybe you could poke around in the dizzy opening and catch the
pump shaft.
