oil pump shaft

Is there a trick to keeping this straight up and down when installing the distributor? The shaft falls to one side and then doesn't let the distriburtor slide over the top.

Theres supposed to be a little washer on the shaft that holds it straight up ,you could always pick up the Ford racing shaft that fills the hole so it doesnt flop its round in the center then octagon on the ends to fit the dist. and oil pump

Thanks for the feedback. I finally got it to drop in after about 15 minutes. Of course it was off a bit so I had to pull it and redo it. Within 10 seconds the next time go figure.
