Hey everyone, I've got a 2003 mustang gt 5 speed and as of late my oil temp has dropped while going to work I haven't touched the oil system in my car and it is sitting half way between the cold line and it's normal operational temp, I drive 45 min to a hour to work and it doesn't get close to what it used to.

Oil temp?
Are you sure you do not mean coolant temp?

While the guage in the 2003 cluster does look a bit like a temp guage, it's actually oil pressure. L means Low pressure and H means high pressure.

May want to check the sending unit, check your oil level (change oil if you can) and maybe get a mechanical guage on there to assign an oil pressure number to what the OEM guage is reading.

The OE gauge is really more of a dummy gauge and should sit inthe middle when the engine is running. You need to confirm if this is an electrical glitch, or your motor is actually running on lower pressure now

Put a resistor in the line to make it read higher
Install a direct pressure gauge to see just what pressure you have at hot idle
