well I gave up for a while but am wanting to get this done now. my old compressor had the clutch busted off of it when I bought the car. (89 lx hatch) I replaced the compressor and tried charging the system (134) could never get the compressor to lock up within the save working pressure as per the recharge kit. started asking around on here and was told to check a solenoid on the passenger side and plugs on the evaporator/in the general area. well I said screw the recharge pressures and put half another bottle of free-on in. I made a little progress but still not getting the clutch to lock. here's what's up now. turn on the a/c, and that solenoid on the passenger side (near the intake) is clicking. click click.................click click..........etc. turn off the a/c or unplug the compressor and it stops. I was trying to get the solenoid at advance and the guy said if its clicking then its good. and to just keep adding free-on until it locks. well I started to but quit, cause I have about 80 psi in there now, and still no locking clutch. should I replace the solenoid or is there something im missing? any help would be awesome..
thanks guys
