Wiring question time, woot!

I searched, didn't find exactly what I was looking for...

1.) Good key-on ignition source for tach?

2.) Where do y'all like to mount switch panels? I have ign, water, fuel & fan on a panel I need to put in... Needs to be in a good accessable place.

3.) Which wire is my key on, and which wire is my actual start engine? I'm looking just to extend the wire from my ignition box under the wheel, so I can use either one. I could figure it out, but it'd be easier if someone just told me. PM me if nessesary.

Thanks guys. Slowly getting the car back together. :SNSign:

Oh and for the battery disconnect switch, the instructions say "In order for vehices with Alternators to meet NHRA regulations, an Alternator output wire must be wired to the battery side of the disconnect switch"

I assume this just means I need to extend my alt-wire back to the trunk, and hook it to the switch?

Sorry, wiring is NOT my thing. :P

Off Topic: Got any pics of that Trans Am? And whats your 347 combo? Got any dyno or track numbers?

347 is:

68 302 block
Trickflow heads
Ross Forged pistons
Eagle rods
Scat crank
Ported/polished Weiand intake
650 CFM Demon Carb

No #'s yet, the car is still in peices :(

Trans Am is still unrestored, though it will be an easy project. There isn't a SPECK of rust on the car (excepting where the exhaust was hack-mounted RIGHT against the floorboard in one spot, but otherwise) and that's AMAZING for those of you who don't know 2nd gen T/A's... Rust is basically the normal mod. :nonono:

I don't know what the car in the background is .... but it looks like it took the rust trophy that you were looking for with the T/A. That a Torino or what?

As far as the T/A .... my vote is "Bandit Clone"!

Oh ... and I just thought I'd post a pic of a nice clean car that was in Bristol at the B.O.P. Nationals.

You got it. It was a Torino. Those pix were taken in the yard of the guy I bought it from. He had some classic cougars, (some low mileage) the rusted torino parts car, the T/A, a 70 GTO, and couple other things.. Redneck though :nonono: lol

That sure is a clean car. I'm don't like the noses on those as much though.

And I think it'll have to be a bandit clone.. I wasn't gonna do what everyone else does... but the Bandit is soo cool :p lol
