ok guys, ive been asking alot of questions on this lately, but this is it im ordering tomarrow. we are talking heads and cams. i m still trying to decide which set up...down to the last min.

hope you guye can help me decide.

i will keep all the mods i have. future things is built engine, and blower, just so u know.

option 1: is the stage 2 fox lake heads, with a custom grind very mild blower cams...trying to keep it emissions friendly.

option 2: the mph stage 2 1/2 heads, with the same type of custom grind cam, only by them.

i know that mph is favorer here on this web site, but try to give me the best answer you can. also because of the bigger port of the stage 2 1/2 will that make the power gain com on higher in the rpm range, cause i dont really want that.

either way if i dont use mph now, i will prob. get their blower kit later down the line. mongoose kit or whatever its called. also are arp head studs nessary, or can i just use the stock ones that came out. how much are arp studs?

i know its alot of questions, but im spending a whole lot of money tomarrow......so help me with the best set up. THANKS GUYS! :nice:

well id like the power high up, but i want it to start as low as possable as well. so which ever set up is better for that. and of course i want to make the most power all around. :D

Well since you want to go with MPH for the blower in the future I would go with them now discuss what you want and have them get he cam ground for that comination. Plus you be building customer loyalty and a working relationship with them. Of course the Fox lake with the stage 2's and cams would be nice ... ummmm p51. Also anyone know if you lose boost with ported heads? I've heard the KB guys discuss it.

IDK if you really lose boost. When you port the heads you make your compression go up, so you cant run as much boost I guess. Then again blower's love ported heads because they flow so much better.

Your compression doesn't go up with ported heads. The reason you lose boost with ported heads is because the engine can flow more air, making it more consistant. I run a 12# pulley but my engine only makes 7 psi. Think of it like this - if you have a cup with a 2" hole on the bottom vs a cup with a 4" hole on the bottom, the 4" cup will flow the water a lot faster. The water pressure coming out of the 4" cup will be a lot less than the 2" because the 2" has to push a lot more through a smaller opening, while the 4" can breathe more freely. Hope that helps.

Thanks for clearing it up. Thats a pretty damn good example :nice:

i've been researching heads/cams myself. All of the major names are good. VT, FoxLake, MPH. MPH has highest flow #'s but what sold me was price without core trade (so i can sell my pi heads)and Tims ability to make a custom cam to match my setup. Also the most recent King of The Streets was running MPH heads.
