ok i need help and lots of it !

Sooo apperently i got drunk and hit my steering wheel.... well anyways i put a huge dent in the side of it. You know the cap that covers the steering wheel. Where you push to honk the horn. Anyways i was wondering if there is any way to pop that cap off so i can fix the dent. I know the air bag is under there....so i was wondering what the heck to do. Cause i dont want to take that off somehow and have the air bag come out. Sooo please someone let me know if its possible to fix that.

FYI this is a V6 forum. The procedure will be same though regardless of the model. If nobody comes up with the answer before this afternoon I'll look in the shop manual and post about it here.

I don't know. I know that the airbag is attached to it, so it might be tricky.

You need a new airbag.

Disconnect your battery.

Pop out the plastic covers on the steering wheel cover. (The part next to the ignition)

Take out the screw from both sides.

Ease back the air bag.

Disconnect the wiring.

Fin.

What were you doing behind the wheel anyway?

It's just flexible plastic, can't you get something in behind it, and bend it back out

no there is a abs box behind the radio if u discontect that the air bag will not go off ... ask your mechanic the process will take like 15 min .... mine got stolen wen they ripped out my headunit... cause im a sound system guy... atleast it is impossible to rip out my subs.. perfect fit can not be takin out soo the subs and the amp stayed :-D

if you disconnect your battery, they won't deploy either. Kind of hard to send an electric signal to the air bag module if there is no current.

And that takes less than a minute.
