will a surging problem at 2000 rpms bucking at back firing will this throw codes i got a code tester

Probably not any codes, and not any that directly tell you what the issue is (you might get clues though).

But you can run a cylinder balance test to see if it picks the miss up and can narrow it down to a cylinder (vs a random misfire).

It never hurts to check codes when an issue pops up.
