Ok so yesterday i went home in the pouring rain and i wanted to play around with the car so i did....lol....I got a little wet but it was worth it...Anyways I was talking to my Father and he told me try advancing the timing instead and see what happens...so i did i moved it a little advanced took if for a ride and it seemed almost all gone....I also talked to Edelbrock tech line they told me to put in a different step up springs under the metering rods i did that too...AND WOW....does this car haul now....no surge..no miss no nothing just tire breaking speed....LOL...So my question why did i have to advance my timing so much for it to run so well????I mean when i looked with a timing light it was about 15 degress....I must have advacned it to like say 20 degress could that have been off or something????

and you are sure you have everything set up right? timing light on #1 plug....etc?

that does seem kinda odd to me too. and are you sure your dizzy is place correctly. number one cylinder T.D.C on the compression stroke distributor on #1 on the rotor?

im sure you have all of this correct but it never hurts to check

As far as i know i had the timing light on it the 1st time and yes i had the light on plug wire number 1 maybe the Dizzy is off a little or something because i think it has alot of intial timing but it seems to run great this way...very responsive...no pinging..car starts right up when hot ...i too am confused....the carb takes an adjustment nice....i dont know weird no????but the surging is gone....at least.....I now when i bolt the blower up i cant use vac advance anyways so i need a good intial timng so i should be ok and im also installing an A/F gauge to so i can really make sure how im running with the blower.....
