So I was going to buy the limited explorer but the sales guy at ford was stupid and didnt get the keys and hold it when I called and said I will buy it and i'm coming in to sign the papers. So when I got there someone else was buying it. Man I was so mad and my mom just bought a car from the same guy there a month ago. My dad was livid and he had a small paint spot issue with my moms car witch at first the guy said it could be buffed out and now to fix it it will cost $300 to get the paint fixed and they said they would pay $200 of it. Well, now after yesterday my dad e-mailed the gm of the dealer and we are getting the paint fixed for free.

So after that I went shopping and stopped by the jeep dealer.

At first they had 2 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limiteds for $10,000. One was a 97 green one with 85k on it, and the other was a 98 silver one with 64k on it.

The delar tried to finance me for $235 a month and $1500 down. I can't afford that right now. So I said I have an e-loan check for $6688 and about $1000 to put down.

I was looking at the green one at first so the sales manager came out and said we need to make our numbers by the 24th so how about your e-loan check and $1200 for the green one out the door. Then I rememberd that the e-laon has to be a 98 or newer car. So I looked the silver one and the worst thing was a torn up seat witch when I looked at the carfax it spent most of it's time in az and with a sun roof it looked like sun damage. So I said I will take the silver one for the same deal. They said yes and i'm going to get it tomorrow.

So I'm paying $7888 out the door for a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a v-8 and 4x4 and only 64k on it. The trade in on the thing is at $7500 and the book is $13k. So now my payments are $141 a month for this jeep.

Not too familiar with what trims had what engines .... is it a 4.0 I6 or a 5.2 V8? I'm hoping (for your sake) it is the 4.0.

the 4.0 I6 is awesome! i have an 88 xj sport (cherokee) two door 4x4. freakin awesome, man. havn't parted with it yet. i havn't driven it in a number of years, but it's cool to look out the window and still see it in the back.

my mom just got a liberty--3.8 liter. not too bad, but i wish she would've gotten the 4.0 in another xj or something.

enjoy, nice vehicle to drive around in and have a little fun with, too.

My mom has a '96 Limited with 161k miles and the 5.2 V8 and the only thing wrong with it is that it's rusted some around the windshield under the trim, causing a small leak. I'm thinking of getting an '05 Laredo with the 4.7 V8 and leather. They're definitely nice trucks.

Well, I finally went and got it from the dealer today.

All I can say it's a blast to drive. It has the full time 4x4 then I can shift it too low 4x4 when needed. It does not have 4x2 with the drivetrain setup.

Now it's time for a 3-4" lift and bigger tires.

I can get some bigger tires that have studs in them for free and I wonder if I pull the studs out they will be ok on the street.

My ex g/f recently did me a favor and totalled my 97 orvis (step up from limited) It had the 318 V8 and was an ok car but there are some inherent design flaws. The power steering bracket is junk and can split in half. The fuel filter is actually in the fuel tank and the tank has to be dropped to change it. Chrysler auto trans are junk. But offroad and in the snow those things are beasts. An orvis has 3:73s, up country suspension, skid plates, 10kip tow hooks, etc.
