Alright so I would like to figure this out cause I am getting conflicting information on posts all over the place.

I installed the Mac offroad H-pipes on my 03 GT. Some of you are saying that the pipes with stock mufflers will actually decrease RWHP. Others are saying that it will increase HP.

So has anyone actually gone and dyno tested their ride after doing a similar install and what was the verdict?

Anyone who says it robs you of HP with the stock cat-back shouldn't be posting in the tech section.

as long as the a/f ratio doesn't go crazy, you will make more power with the o/r h pipe vs stock. the stock H is the biggest restriction in the exhaust. get rid of it and there is no way you can lose power unless something else is wrong.

This is exactly what I thought. I dont know why someone would say this, but it has been a very common thread even on this message board.

yeah, as long as you don't start running pig rich, it will run alot stronger.

If anyone says they lost hp or torque with LT or midpipe they are talking out of their ass and should post a dyno (not times) to prove it!!

they are probably talking about losing low end torque because the more free flowing pipe decreases the scavenging effect. i thought that was correct...guess i shouldn't be posting in tech anymore
