Old School Fox guys - Hays clutch cable kit

Any of the old school Fox guys familiar with the Hays clutch cable kit ? I think back in the day these were highly sought after ….I was lucky enough to find the Hays 76-228 kit on Craigslist ….still new and in the packaging with a 5/2000 manufacture date.

This cable seems extremely heavy duty & it’s crazy flexible, has metal ends to it as opposed to plastic. It’s also even shorter than a stock fox cable ?

Anyway, the question for any of the older fox guys (I’m old myself), is about the cable end that hooks to the quadrant, it’s nothing like a normal fox cable, it has a Clevis type end on it ? Anybody used this cable with that type of end ? It seems like it will hook into the quadrant, but just seems odd to me.

Possibly the wrong end was installed on it when manufactured ? Everything was still in the original blister packaging and never opened. The instructions do not show this clevis type end.

Never had that end on the two I used, they are a bit shorter then fox lenght and no frame rail mount, they worked with the mac long tubes I usually ran, but was many cars and years ago. Is there a lead end inside that blister pack with the E-clip ? can't really see it on my phone. those things where like $110 just for the cables so maybe they made it multi purpose then changed it later on? The one replacemnt cable I had was black, other blue, neither with that end on it though, dont think they ever sold well even though its a much better construction then most cables.

There’s no different ends inside the package, just the E-clips, etc. I think I might grind off part of the clevis end and still give it a try.
Maybe they did make it multipurpose at some point ? Anyway, I got it for a decent price, so might as well give it a shot.
The cable portion definitely seems thicker than most fox clutch cables, and I’m surprised how flexible it is, even for being 20+ years old.
