Old timer new to the Forum

Evening,

Just wanted to post an intro:
I am Old School gearhead in the midst of a SBF rebuild and wanted to review the info here on the forums.
The current project is a 1964 289 and my son and I are switching it over to a roller valvetrain. Its bored .30 over and I recently picked up a set of edlebrock performer RPM heads for her.

We also got a mild lunati roller cam to run in it and I am researching the market for the roller lifters and rockers currently.

Thanks all

Ok, according to a quick search the first generation 298 had a 5 bolt bell housing till the 6 bolt came out approximately aug 64. The first run of stangs in 64 had what was left of the 260's but also included the first generation 289.
the waters get pretty muddy because car manufacturers used up the old parts first.

Yeah, all the 1962-1964 model year small blocks were 5 bolt. The one remaining small block (the 289) got upgraded to a larger 6 bolt bellhousing for the 1965 model year which allowed it to mount an 11" clutch.
