hey guys i just got a sweet deal on some tfs tw heads....the guy said he bought them several years ago when they had bearly came out and were like 900 bucks.....they have 10k miles and and he threw in some tfs 1.6rr's for free......my question is, are the old tw the same as the current ones? i mean these dont even have the trickflow logo on the side of the heads, so they look unbraned.....it has a casting serial number tfs sbf-1 by the valvesprings.

The original maker of the 'Twisted Wedge' heads, not Trick Flow, no longer makes them, and the new ones are made by Trick Flow. That might explain the no logo thing. You might be able to get a hold of Summit Racing to answer any more questions, as Summit 'owns' Trick Flow.

Not to rain all over your parade
but
Some of the early Trick Flow heads had valve guide issues

Not saying those particular heads do
but
Just raising a red flag of caution

I know about the valve guide issues first hand. Take them to a reputable shop and have the guides checked for clearance and different seals installed on them. The old heads didnt have the greatest guides in them but the kicker was the seals didnt let any oil by and the valves stems would gauld up in the guide. It is no biggy just have them reamed and re-sealed they will work great.
