Well I feel quite a bit better this morning. I seriously thought I was gonna die in my sleep last night, lol (not really, but I was really sick!). So off to work I go. Other than a headache and a sore throat, I feel okay. I've been taking Vitamin C and Echinacea pills like candy. They seem to be working so far. Wish me luck!

Eat anything funny (or funky) recently?

Violent heaves followed by a quick recovery sounds like food poisoning (which is surprisingly common). And it could explain the aches too. Throat could be sore from the puking.

agreed with GRGT1994 on this one. There's no such thing as a 24 hr flu, as I was told by a doctor once....a 24 hr flu is pretty much almost always food poisoning....

yup had food poisoning one time and ended up in the er b/c I thought I was dying. I couldn't even walk my stomach hurt so bad. That **** sucks. Glad you feel better tho.

You know I was thinking it was food poisoning, and not the flu. I thought the flu generally lasted a week or so. I asked my mom about it, and she said that if I was just starting to get it, but the vitamins I was taking counteracted it, then I might have avoided getting it full-blown. Let's see, thursday I had a chicken baked potato for lunch, and a little bit of spaghetti for dinner. But my mom had some of the potato, and my friend's mom cooked the spaghetti for a bunch of people, and none of them got sick.

I have had instances where I got sick from food but a friend or whatever ate some of mine and didn't get sick. Some people react to things differently.

The influenza virus can't be beaten down with vitamins. They may help you avoid it in the first place, and may reduce the symptoms, but if it's the flu then it will run its course (about 2 weeks). Otherwise, it was probably something else.

Good to hear you are on the upswing.
