Well, I haven't had a piping failure yet, but it did not fit perfectly. The headers, crossover and cold piping were ok, but the down pipe didn't go. I had to relocate my ac drier, saw an ear off my tko, and beat the e out of a floorboard to get it in. Also the 4" race core intercooler required me to cut out a lot of the fiberglass bumper and almost all of the lowerbumper cover where the air inlet is. Definitely use the standard intercooler, as they don't warn you about fitment of the large cooler in an lx. You get what you pay for, for sure.

Allen! Quit yer whining. It has been pointed out enough to be a sticky, (maybe more than an explorer swap) that you can pay someone to install an on3 kit in your '85 without issue and make 500hp and never ever ever ever ever ever ever have a problem. I don't see what the big deal is.
