On3 Turbo kits

I'm thinking of buying a used 03 Turbo kit for my 95 build. Anyone used these turbo kits before. Any feedback is helpful....

From what I've been reading they are turning out to be a pretty good deal for the money. Their bottom line turbo isn't the greatest so upgrading to the Master Power turbo is a good idea. Hotside for our cars is made from mild steel now instead of stainless so it's much more durable.

There has been a good bit of fitment issues, so if your not prepared to modiy stuff to make it fit perfect the On3 is not the right choice. Just did one on my buddies 95, it needed a little work, the MP70 or MP76mm is a ok turbo however.

The flex joints they use are very cheap and not the right style IMO, you will also need a oil filter relocation kit for clearance.

On3 to me is a tuner kit, although complete needs a jiggle/wiggle. Though I wouldn't buy it used personally. How much are they asking, and is it the forward facing one?

The guy is asking 1575 for the "front facing" complete kit with Dena 42lb injectors and Mass Air. I did look give On3 a call and they are out of stock of the 94-95 kits.

I'm thinking I'm going to go with it, while I don't look forward to dealing with fitment issues. My budget of 2k leaves me limited options...

If you look around you can find Vortech kits for our cars for a lot less than 2k. Hell, 2k would probaby get you an entire setup injectors, maf and all! I guess none of that matters if you want a turbo though.

It's a bummer he's out of the 94/95 kits, seems everyone is always out of parts for our cars. BS if you ask me. I should start a company called "Only 94/95 Mustang Parts" and always have them in stock!

Nicely priced kits but from what I have seen are hit/miss with quality. As mentioned get atleast the MP turbo. I have seen a few and vbands didnt line up, maf bungs welded in backwards, and other fitment issues. I have seen another local guy that said his bolted right up...

I have also read horror stories with the warrenty...seem to deny all claims.

Great entry level kit, that may req a lil work. I would run a good turbo and upgrade all the vband clamps at a min.

Thanks for all the responses guys. It seems that there were some issues with kits but most people I spoke to were happy, and I saw this setup on a running car so given the fact I needed to get an exhaust anyway I went ahead and brought it. The guy came down on his price and I got everything for 1375, including a ypipe, injectors and MAF. Seemed like a good deal too me?

I got everything out of the box and did some early mockups, looks like I'm going to have to play with some piping but I don't see any major issues. I'm most concern about the crossover pipe and the front sway bar but I'll see this weekend. I'm doing research today and hopefully I'll start putting parts on the car and engine (which is out of the car) this weekend.

I hope you have better luck than what I have seen. The few good stories do not out weigh the bad.

My biggest gripe with most of the higher end turbo kits is that they require us to lose our A/C. That is not an option for me and when I called On3 he guaranteed that I could keep my A/C so that's a huge selling point for me. One of my bigger clients can help me fix any little defects in the system when/if I order a kit.

I don't know anything about those kits except that the price is too good to be true.... so it isn't, period. I wouldn't look twice. You're better off going for a custom kit.

i dont get caught up on what a bunch of internet tough guys say, 95% of the people that talk smack have never even had personal experience with the product, the on3 kit is worth the asking price, its basicly a bolt in kit that may need some more work to make complete for less then 2000$ thats half what a new blower kit costs, and if people are freaking out obout flex pipes coming apart well then the cheap bastards should have a piece bent for them and stop bitching, also you cant trust things that these guys install in there garage , there are alot of hacks out there and bang pound and hack **** up because they think it will be easier to install this way then they point the finger at somone else cause it didnt last

The thing about theturboforums is that one of their huge sponsors is B&G Custom turbo, which is ok and I know they make quality stuff, but of course anything new that comes along that threatens the success of a major sponsor over there they immediately shoot them down and burn em to the ground! They speak of banning him over there, but I'm sure some emails/phone calls were made to the powers that be to put that in motion.

I read a very long thread over there one time where the guy was trying to stand by his product but they crucified him simply because he sold his kits on ebay along side those junk SS Auto Chrome kits and the like. Just because something is sold on Ebay doesn't make it junk!

Maybe so... maybe not. Go up a little in this thread, and see what Rick, with personal experience, thinks of the kit. He's done it himself: fitment issues, poor quality materials (clamps), built a new hot side, etc...

Just like most products, you get what you pay for.

On the same token, there have been others with personal experience who bought the kit and had no issues with it at all. The problem is, every single car and engine is slightly different in one way or another. There's no way any turbo manufacturer can build a kit that will fit exact on every single car out there. I know some of the hardware in the kit is junk but at that price I'd expect that.

Yup, just like when I bought a Mustang, these damn 94/95's aren't the most reliable of the herd, but it doesn't make Ford a bad company, it just means that some bad designs made it off the assembly line. At least that guy is cool enough to take critism and make changes to his product.
