One headlight dim

Just recently one of my headlights went dim, I switched lights to see if that was the problem but it doesnt make a difference. I replaced the headlight switch, it doesnt make a difference. Does this sound like a voltage regulator issue? If so, I have looked in the parts catalog and they sell two versions, one says (w/alternator, analog) and the other says (w/alternator, electric), its for a 67, 289 2bbl, nothing special, thoughts?

I had always heard that this is due to high resistance in the wiring or connections. This can be caused by corrosion at the connection point. Try and see if that's what it is. Corrosion would not allow a good flow of electricity, thus dimming the light as it does not have enough power.

So what you are saying I should trace back the wires from the light and see if there is a coroded connection somewhere?

Yes. First try the connection at the back of the light and go from there.

If it's both high and low beam dimmer than the driver side, Look for a corroded, loose or dirty ground screw with three black wires going to it near the battery.

yep, bad grounds first then bad connections, then bad wires.

Almost always a bad ground. Almost never a component that runs both lights, like the switch.
