btw I fixed mine with small pieces of this cushioning material they use in cheap mattresses. can't explain it anymore as it was some 9 mths ago but as you take the center of the steering wheel apart you will figure it out. 20 minutes max.
All right, I've attached two pictures of my steering wheel with the horn button off. Where exactly does the foam or cotton balls go? What about the wheel spring that's supposed to be visible when you take the horn button off?
chris, the piece that you removed (wheel1 is the picture name) has to come apart. the pads are inside there. i have only done it to my escort (and thats back 7 years ago.... damn time flies ) but in that one i had to slip the rubber cover off the plastic horn button.... if that makes any sense lol

Yeah, what he said. I'm not sure what you're talking about either- and my wife has been without a horn since her '89 woke us up at 2am a few months ago. I'd love to fix it, there isn't a horn pad in a junkyard for 100 miles from here.
Woohoo, I took that piece apart and put some paper towel between the pads, then spent about half an hour trying to get the thing back together, lol. But when I reconnected the horn, it worked! Thanks to everyone... StangNet rocks!
