can anyone suggest a few tricks or tips on how to install a fatory H-pipe (the heavy one) with no helper. usally i would have a friend lay under the car and hold it in place so i could put on the header nuts. then each person lays on each side holding up your side while putting in the exhuast hardware.

(THE L SHAPED HANGERS HAVE BEEN CUT OFF THE H-PIPE)

if anyone has a good method that they use I would like to hear it.
also i am doing it with a jack and jack-stands. and have done it about 4 times but never alone. i know im not strong enough to hold up the whole pipe/line up the holes/and put on the nuts. so.....
could i put a rope over the tranny and tie it up there while i get the nuts on?

later

damn, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. i always just slip the hangers into the exhaust hanger and it's easy, but you're unfortunate in your situation. it's not that hard be on your back and lift the thing up by yourself, but like you said doing that screwing on the header nuts at the same time would be a bitch

"oh ill give you a call later to see what your doing"
i dont even ask for help anymore. im not willing to beg for that type of friendship. i offer to help my friends ya know. owell

try strapping it up, using a jack to hold it in place or even in combination with the jack stands.

hell, i did my mid-pipe before on my back, using my knee's to hold it up. then reached my arms up and started the header flanges.

I held mine up with my legs until I got the driver's side started (the easiest side on my T-Bird),then,moved over and got the other 2 nuts started. After that,it was just a matter of tightening the nuts.

i have no hangers also on my o.r X and have done it many times with just the front on wheel ramps...i just lat under the midpipe it with the bottom 2 legs on the top of my feet and push the top it up, throw it a nut or two, do the same all around then tighten them up...and i think i also used a jack under the front part a few times too...
