Well like most of you know I got my engine rebuilt and only after 600 miles its going out. It smokes blue smoke really bad at the start up and sitting at lights. I got chrome molly rings but I would not think that it should smoke that much....

When I got about 400 miles on it I changed the oil and put mobil 1 in it. Also we did a compersson test too and I got 170 psi in 1,3,4,5,6,7. then 8 had 140 and oil all over the plug.. then #2 had 210 psi in it. What going on???? All new every thing other then cam shaft bearings..........

What do you guys think???.....

The oil on the piston could be oil getting in via the pcv. As for compression did you do a wet or dry test.

i would suspect the 210 was a fluke. I would retest it again. Hold the TB wide open when you crank it. do each cylinder dry. You can then do a wet test with some oil and see what you get. This will help you determine if the rings are the problem.

Depends on where you have the pcv line connected.

yea the tb was wide open and I well do the wet test in the morning. How can I test or check the pcv, the right way... Also my aftermaket oil pressure gauge and stock one are acting all funning. One day working and the next day not working, what do you think??

I also wonder if you didin't go synthetic too early...not familiar with chromoly rings or the seating time required, but perhaps it may be an issue.

well just got back from working on it. Well the old pcv was shoot, it had oil just running out of it. Also I'll going tomorrow to have the oil changed back to 5-30 hoping it does something. Also I was working on my oil gauges and I got the aftermarket and stock one to work then me being dumb I pulled it out with my big old meat skiners But for about 20 mins they both worked just fine. But I think the aftermarket one is bad. What else can I do guys?..........

well with 600 miles and chrome moly rings i would have to guess that the rings are not seated properly. my car used oil for about 4k miles and than just stopped one day. i would take the M1 out and use regular atleast for another 2k miles
