Alright I'm fixing to get my car back from paint and body. First thing I'm doing is wiring up my 3G alternator.

But on vehicles that came factory with a 3G alternator, it's wired like this
The little white plug just comes straight off the plug that goes in to the voltage regulator. My question is, can I run the wire just like in the second picture or will doing this cause any issues?
