Just put a 302 with electric fuel pump in my 65 convertible and was trying to use the 6-cyl 40 amp alternator. Wasn't happening. Headlights were too much for it with the electric pump. Ordered the one-wire 100 amp alternator form Summit. Installed fine, and have hooked the battery lead to the single rear terminal. I have two wires that now remain unterminated. One is a ground, I'll simply make it pass the alternator in the harness. The other lead is the one I'm unfimilliar with. I have not attempted to start the car yet, and have simply taped off the remaining lead in question. Is this going to cause a problem? What should I do to properly finish this install? Do I need to do anything with the original external regulator? Leave it there? Thanks guys.
