I think people need to post that they do or dont top of their tank. If you do top off your tank like i do you should get atleast 270 a tank city driving and 300-310 on the freeway. If your not, then there maybe some maintenance you need to do on your vehicle.

I've noticed my highway mileage has dropped from 28 when the car was brand new to about 24 on average lately. I think it may have to do with fuel filter. Do you guys think the fuel filter will drastically affect gas mileage? Scheduled maintenance is 30k miles according to the book.

 "should get atleast"
Even stock, the best I got was 24mpg on 400 mile trips. Now I get 21-22 and 14-17 in the city.

Is'nt the fuel pump in the tank?If so,I would not run it that low on gas, because there is a chance of your pump getting hot with no fuel to keep it cool and it could lead to premature wear.I would try not to run it under a 1/4 of a tank.My .02. :D

The fuel pump is in the tank, but it is in a bucket inside the tank. The bucket will stay filled with gas as long as there is some gas in the tank (one-way valve on bucket) so you don't need to keep 1/4 tank of gas.

I think I got a little more than 200 miles out of a tank of gas when I was stock, maybe even 250 or more. Now I am really lucky to get 200 miles out of a tank of gas even on the highway. Of course, at 450rwhp with 4.30 gears, that might have something to do with it! :D

I don't pay attention to the damn light. When mine comes on, I still have about 3 gallons left!

The tanks are 15.7 Gallons. I usually get about 240 miles and fill it up with about 14 gallons = about 17mpg....mostly city

maybe you should get a tune up, or do it yourself, the price of a tune up is not that much considering the money you are wasting on gas. Either that, or take your foot off the gas at stoplights. Seriously, though, that is the only way I can see you getting that bad of gas mileage. :nonono:
