i just finished my suspension on my 65 coupe a cpl days ago and had her aligned yesterday. took her out for a cruise last night and shes amazing now. i did shelby drop, 620 1" drop, 1 1/8 front say, kyb shocks up front with 5 mid eye leaf, 1"(maybe 3/4) sway bar, and kyb shocks in rear. i think i need to lower the rear another inch or so but i wont do that untill everything settles.

THANKS everybody for their help with doing this, i started alot of threads about suspension and everybody really helped me out. thanks again guys!

The same setup I put in. Quite a difference huh? It still won't grip like a new car so don't push it too far heh.

Just about the same as what I use. Get a lowering block in to make the car think she has less weight up front. Mine is the polycarbonate type that flexes with the rear spring.

Enjoy that ride.

Good Stuff!

I've read that the KYB shocks are very stiff, would the Koni's give a better ride???
Also , 19Mustang65 , can you tell me how the ride quality stacks up against your 98 Mustang?? I've got a 98 and a 65 also, and would like to get the 65 riding and handling as close to the quality of the 98 as possible.

With my old set-up, close to the one mentioned, I was diving under them in the corners taking down fox bodies, and sn95's one by one. That was with the exception of the cobras. They had more power and more gears.

I still have more touring to do over the next year, but I can't wait to take the new set-up out to the track! I just can't beat up the paint job just yet.

Have fun and please be careful

Koni's all the way!!!

I did the same set up on my 69 except I put 4 leaf mid-eyes springs in the rear. Too many damn pot holes here on Long Island. I still have to get my 17" wheels maybe 16 not sure, but it handles great even with the stock 14" wheels with 215/70/14 tires. Body roll is minimal, works great. The guy that did the work is now going to do the A-arm drop to his 68 fastback, he was just as impressed with the results as I was. Good luck and enjoy
