Im looking to use a 2004 Torch Red GT as a base platform for a family project car. My goal is to slowly build it up and have the kind of car thats still around in the family 50 years from now and can be worked on as a family and passed down through the family.

I already have some of the parts and plan to get the rest in the near future, I just wanted an opinion on a few other things.

As far as exterior what we have planned is this:

2000 Cobra R Front Bumper
2000 Cobra R Hood
2000 Cobra R Rear Wing
2000 Cobra R Wheels
Roush Side Skirts
Roush Side Exhaust System
Roush Rear Valences (swap out V8 for V6 rear bumper)

No stickers, no eblems, no racing stripes.

Performance wise we have the standard stuff covered, in regards to suspension, what I need some insight on are the available supercharger kits on the market. Can you make any recommendations on strong/reliable kits on the market for a block that will eventually be worked on, but will be stock for about a year or two.

Thanks for any feedback.

Sounds like you're going for a Cobra R clone, gl with the project.

Yes sir that is correct, I'd buy a 2000 Corbra R, but I do like things like air conditioning and music (and back seats if needed).

Plus if I buy it out of the box already built, then I miss out on the fun parts.

Having gone through it, I have to agree with this. Assuming by a family project you're looking to do most everything yourself, you're not going to get a better balanced setup for the money anywhere, regardless of which blower you decide on. To my knowledge, Tim is still the only one who's going to include absolutely everything you need right down to the tune. I couldn''t even install my own gauges and I was able to install his mongoose kit. It's that inclusive and well laid out. I think the KB's still have to be installed in his shop, but you can check with him. Alot has changed since my install.

If you're going for a Cobra R clone - build the motor before you slap on the body panels. Otherwise - you're going to get lit up by ricers and S197's looking for a fight. Then they'll go around posting that they beat a Cobra R. Not cool.

I do not like the lip on the 2000 Cobra R Front Bumper.
The 2000 Cobra R Rear Wing should not even be on the 2000 Cobra R seeing as it looks like a ricer wing. I know its good for track use but to me it says ricer all over it and I would never even think about putting that on my stang. Also I think the GT bumper looks better then putting a V6 bumper on it. Other then that everything else sounds good.
