Currently have a flowmaster 2.5 inch system, but a friend has a brand new MAC 2.5 system with 3" tips that he wants to sell cheap. Do they sound any better than the flowmasters. Also, will the 3" tips look stupid? I always hated ricer looking tips. any opinions appreciated.

Theres an audible difference between the two but not a major one. I think mac sounds better than my old flows did. I believe mac flows better than flowmasters but you wouldn't feel it on the butt dyno. I'd get a sound clip of my car if I could, the only difference being you have an h-pipe and I have an x-pipe but it would give a better idea. Since my camera is ******* I can't even give you pics of my tailpipes. There a little bigger than the 2.5" pipes so I'd assume there 3". There bigger than stock but there not fart cannons out back either, I personally think they look good. How much is he asking for the exhaust? I wouldn't mess with it unless it's dirt cheap, exhause can be a bitch to line back up and keep from rattling.

He only wants $200 for it, they go for about 310 new i think. If theres not much of a difference, I may just keep my flowmaster cat back and change mufflers. What muffler would give me a good sound? Im just kind of sick of the boring flowmaster sound. Sounds good, but too plain for me

This stuff is so hard - the same system sounds different on two different cars.

That said, I have 2 chambers on the fox and Flowpath catback on the 94. I LOVE the way the Flowpaths sound.

I dont have experience with both systems on the same car though (as others do).

Good luck.

The drone on my 90 kills me with flows... forget about having a nice highway conversation or when you get off the freeway at a stop light and your radio is blasting and you have to turn it down.

I like the drone. Gives it the don't ***** with me sound. People who ride in the back HATE it though, and that was before headers lol. But I hate having people ride in my back seat.

Some spintech would sound real mean but idk if you want that loud or not. I'm considering switching over to that for mine but still undecided.

I just wish the noise was just outside... and not in the cab... I guess I don't ever have to worry about falling asleep at the wheel... unless it makes me go def. Unfortunately for my area(bay area) it just means every fart can ricer within 3 square blocks wants a piece of me. Even had a 4.6 rev me on the freeway a few weeks ago... Guess I don't like the attension.

i love the way my mac catback sounds its nice and suddle when under normal driving down the highway at 65-70mph and you can have a convo with everybody inthe car and this set up is with longtube headers too, but as soon as you get into the car pretty hard you will most def be noticed.
