306 Windsor Heads???

I am new to engine building and being on a really tight budget and considering I have most of these parts already What do you guys think of what i am about to put together:

306 Shortblock;
Trw 30 over flat top pistons
forged steel 5.090 rods
cast crank Std. Std.
B303 Cam Roller Lifters
89 5.0 Block

69 Windsor Heads;
1.94 1.6 valves
1.6 Roller Rockers (Alum)
60cc (with out mill, but will need)
Slight port job.
Dual valves springs.

Anything I left out? will be pushing an 82 stang with 4 speed (I know) alum. Driveshaft and 8.8 3.27 gears.
What do you guys think. All info would help? Ohh Power Plus intake.

Opinions? Well, from your parts list, sounds like a strong budget street motor. I think you'll like it.

Sounds like a good setup. I would however, skip the 327's and go to 3.73's, you'll be so much more happy with your setup. I've never really like the Bcam either. The E303 and F are pretty sweet sounding and put out good power. If you like the lope sound like me. Good luck!

For an intake, the GT40 is pretty good. At one time when I was EFI I have the track heat Trickflow and it did a good job for me. I would personally trash the EFI stuff though, too much money for me to spend.

Seriously, if the 4 speed you're talking about is an SROD, at least put in a used T-5 from a V8. The gear ratios on the SROD are terrible! No performance whatsoever out of that tranny.

Thanks for the info. It is a carb setup. I have a Road Demon I am using. I am planning on 3.73's also. I blew out the wimpy 7.5 that i had and found an 8.8 with 3.27's out of a 92 5.0! Will also change tranny when i get some cash to. Is there any valve clearence issure with the E, F or even X cam? Do you guys think this combo will make 350 at the flywheel?

It's kind of hard to guess if it would have clearance issues with a cam, because they're aftermarket pistons. You should always check P to V clearance with any moderate cam you put in anyway.

great motor setup. Run that tranny till it breaks lol. Invest in some suspension if you want that chassis to see multiple passes. Control Arms and Subframes should be at the top your list right next to a new tranny and high flow flux capacitor. sorry, little humor at the end there.

Well on a stock motor, you can go up to a F cam fine, but recommend changing the springs out. I'd call the manufactuar and find out.
