O.K. I found a car right in my town, and I need some opinions on the price. The car is a 85 t top 5.0 carbed hatch, absolutely no rust, all stock even the salad shooters, interior needs work-no carpet, cracked dash cover, original seats, some missing interior parts,113K, re paint, 3 owners, one for 20 years originally came from Illinois. Car is very straight good fitment everywhere, t tops do not leak, is driveable. I can get it for 1500.00 is it a good project or not, I know it would be better with pics and I will try to get some.
Thanks, Terry

It sounds like a good project to me. With some fresh carpet, good seats and trim panels and a nice glossy paint job and of course a 5 lug conversion with some sweet wheels....it should be a great car.

Of course...try to wheel and deal, start low and work your way up. Once you go up, you can't come back down.

Go for it, man! If anyone can make something nice out of a beat-up ride, it's you. Kinda funny that this one has interior issues too

4-eye Foxes are cool, and T-tops make that two-fold :nice:

Thanks guys. Here's the deal now. Brought the car up to my place for closer inspection, turns out still rust free BUT the car got put in a ditch and to get her out they hooked on to the rear sway bar and pulled her back which caused the rear quarters to suck inward. Worst part is instead of punding it out and repairing they just gooped her with bondo,so is the car rare enough to mess with if i can pick it up for 1500.00. Or will I be able to find one with fewer issues for 4-5K. I hate body work!!!

Heck, it still sounds like a DEAL to me despite the body damage. If you're having it repainted anyway, how much additional cost will there be in getting the quarters properly straightened out? $500 max?

Not to worry no more two tone. I have a whole plan for the next car including color. The problem I have with this car now is that it may have been tweaked pretty hard, I noticed an indent on the roof behind the t top on the passenger side. Don't know if I want that much work, I just hope I can find another foureye t top or notch. Hey LS-what, have a great holiday.
