opinions please...

Why I got the 95GT.

I remember when the new 94 Mustangs came out. I wanted one badly but could not afford one at the time. After college the wife and I bought a house and then next came my two beautiful daughters. 2002 rolled around and it was finally time to get a weekend drag racer/daily driver that I wanted. After some research of different brands and types of cars I decided on a Mustang. The 94-98 Mustang body style is the one I liked best and the 5.0 was the least expensive to upgrade and easiest to work on. I have never regretted buying it and I thoroughly enjoy driving my car everytime I get in it. :nice:

i had 2 fox body gt's before this car and i looked for 6 months to find it , when i found the car in march of 2000 it only had 18k on it and was bone stock right down to the air filter i was looking for this car and i'm glad i found it .

i was actually in the market for an Eclipse GSX.....there was one i was all about, and ready to buy....GSX with a rebuilt motor( like 5k on the new motor) all the reciepts and the whole 9...FAST car...well anyway im sitting at home 1 day and my mom is pulling in the driveway and my dad is like "go help your mom bring stuff up from the car" well i go downstairs and open the door to the garage and there she is....a 94 GT....my jaw hit the floor....he looked at me and was like "forget about that Eclipse, here is a real car" and i wouldnt have had it any other way!(of course the Stang cost more but he has helped me out a lot with that)....there are very few cars id let mine go for....and they are...a 94-95 Cobra with LESS miles then my GT...a 95 Cobra R an SN95 Saleen S351....or a 98 Cobra with less miles than my current GT.....of course my dream car the Viper but that goes without saying....

I actually was looking for an F-body at the time, but couldnt find any in my price range so I started to look into Mustangs. I had had a supsricption to 5.0 for several years at the time so I knew that I wanted a 94 or 95. I found mine on Autotrader and went to look at it over an hour away. Well we took it for a test drive (my friend drove as I really couldnt drive a stick :rlaugh: ) and I fell in love. I had been in my old friend's sister's GT convertible before and I loved it. That day I put $500 down and the rest is history.

the MR2 has a little Ferrari F348 or F355 design in it...just smaller....but enough to be confused for one?? not by a car guy anyways...

F355(in all its variants except the challenge)

now what really separates the MR2 from the Ferrari's are 2 things....

Ok here is my story..

I decided I was going to go out and buy me a 94-98 GT. The first car I came across was a Green 1994 GT in Chicago that I could have had for 4200...but traveling that far wasn't really feasible.

Next I found a Laser Red 1995 GT in Tampa that I could have had for 4300, I got my money together but the nite I called him to tell him I had the money he had someone coming to get the car.

Next day I called about a Chrome Yellow 1994 GT at a dealership, asking $4995. I drove there with with 4400 in hand ready to offer but the guy sold the car about 45 minutes before I showed up :bang:

Next up was a Green 1996 GT (first modular I almost bought) at a dealership. 150k miles on the odometer but ran good. But I just wasn't too sold on the fact that it had the 248A option. Some people said I was crazy but I just didn't like the car that much, even if it was only 4 grand.

Then after some dry time in the Mustang market here I found a Black 1996 GT in Orlando. 93k miles for 4900. I offered 4500 but they wouldn't take it so I just walked away.

Then I found a White 1994 GT on Stangnet being sold by a guy in Orlando. Even though the car had 200k miles on it, the tranny and some other parts were replaced under 50k miles ago. I drove out to see it, not knowing what to expect. When I saw the car it looked 10 times better in person than in the pictures I had seen, then I test drove the car and I was sold. Even with 200k miles this car felt stronger than any of the others I had driven. I paid 2700 in cash right there for the car and have been loving it ever since :D

Hey, Im Chris, her boyfriend. I registered...I dont knock her lol, I only do when she does it to me, she does it worse to me than I to her....Well, ok When I drive it I make fun of her sometimes b/c of the handling charistics (I dont like powersteering)....

I Dont dislike domestics lol, how hard is it to get some respect in return here? Lots of my friends here in Charlotte at UNCC drive domestics, lots heavily modified, and they like my car...Guess you gotta drive or ride in it to appreciate it.

200,000 miles?? i dont think i could have done it. good find though.

I didn't think so either. But for 2700 and the shape it's in, I think I did good. BUT like I said it drives better and feels stronger than any of the other stangs I drove.

Being a high school student with a budget of under 5 grand to buy the car didn't give me a whole lot of options in the 94-98 category.

Edit: I left out the Laser Red 97 GT I test drove around the time of the Yellow Mustang, it was a nice car but way overpriced and they wouldn't work with me at all on the price. Funny though, they said it was priced right but the car has been sitting on the lot since late Febuary :nonono:

Whoa I just realized I totally failed to answer your original question.

Anyways I like Fox bodies but I just didn't feel as strong about them as I do with the 94-98s. I also decided on the 5.0 vs the 4.6 for 2 reasons...more torque and less money.

Black96VertGT pretty much said it there.
