Hey guys. Just got back from vacation and the battery in my '06 was completely dead. I took this opportunity to pick up an Optima Red Top, and wanted to see what you guys did to secure it down properly as it still has some wiggle room in the stock battery tray. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Mine has a little wedge that holds it down with that long 8mm bolt in the front.

Mine has that as well. I tightened it all the way down, but can still wiggle the battery a little. I didn't know if that would be secure enough, as the hold down strap that goes over the top is not tight either.

It'll be fine, mine is like that too and it's been in my car for over a year with zero problems.

Mine is nice and tight. I did nothing special to it.

Mine is yellow.

The side-mount cable is the dedicated 4AWG power I ran to my subwoofer amplifiers.

Thanks NastyStang113 and DiMora for the input. Makes me feel better knowing the battery isn't going to fly out of the tray if I hit the brakes or turn hard.

DiMora I like the way you ran the extra power cable off the side mount terminal. I'll keep that in mind when I get to the stereo upgrades

Thanks!!!

LOL...I kept it labeled after my supercharger install until I got it tuned - just in case I screwed something up so I could find all the sensors. Took it off after tuning...but you caught me!

Did you use it too when you did your TVS? That stuff is the BOMB! No residue. (I write on it with a clack sharpie)

I only used it to tape up the intake ports and to tape bolts and nuts to their parts.

I ditched the oem tray, fabbed a support bracket and used one of the readily available optima custom trays. Not too much effort into the modification to be honest:
