Optimal heads/intake combo for DSS pro bullet shortblock with blower.

Just recently purchased the DSS 331 pro bullet. Im looking at a set of heads now. probably thinking Trick Flow along with the Trick Flow Intake. I also have a vortech v-1,strim with it 10-14psi. 42lb injectors, 75mm bbk throttle body.

thoughts?

What size motor?
Are emiisons a consideration?

The trick flow CNC heads are the best flowing out there, but they are pricey. If you have a 331/347 I'd go with the 185cc version, but if you're 393 or above, I'd go with the 205's.

Its a 331. Na im already running catless mac pro chamber and i deleted all other emission equipment

I have the AFR 185's and am very pleased with them so far. My setup isn't optimized what so ever but I went with the 185's since I plan on a 347 stroker. It depends on the purpose of the car. 185's and an intake like the Systemax or Performer RPM II would probably work well and still be easily streetable. 205's and a Trick Flow Box R or Victor intake will definately flow more but maybe a little more radical for the street. What HP are you looking for?

Im looking between the 500-600 rwhp range. i do want to keep it streetable but this is in no way my daily driver. More like a car ill just take out a few times a week to impress some friends and still be able to drive it 45min to a track.

That's what I'm thinking. Boost eliminates the possibility of their being lazy air in the heads or intake.

The only reason I'd go with 185s on this combo is if I needed the emissions.

I'd swap the TFS intake for a Holley though.

Yeah for 500 - 600 RWHP I'd say go with the 205's.

What camshaft? +1 on the Systemax intake though! I am running the Dart Pro 1 195's on my 347 nat. aspd and love em

I'd say the Trick Flow setup would be an excellent route to take…as would the AFR 185's. Anything past that though is overkill IMHO. You would start to sacrifice low end grunt for top end h/p…and considering your going to be running around on a stock block, your going to need to keep the rpm's as low as possible for safety sake. Really though, considering there are guys running near 1000rwhp on unported twisted wedge heads…anything head in that range is not going to be a restriction for your setup.

One more thing to keep in mind though is the PTV clearance. Seeing as you already purchased the shortblock, it may simply come down to what fits. The AFR 185's typically need the pistons to be flycut on a stock longblock while the twisted wedge usually clears with ease (cam depending).

should i but the headers through dss? I forget what they offer to you that you wouldent find just buying the heads normally.
