I haven't too much faith in MIL's eliminators since I've seen a few posts about them not lasting long. What is the alternative? I looked at the Hypertech programer but I don't see where it serves this purpose plus it doesn't adjust for the gears on my 96 according to the website. Is there a chip or programmer that can adjust ECU parameters to allow for the use of an O/R pipe W/O the 'check engine' light and adjust air/fuel ratios along with adjustment for my gears/tires?

why are you getting MILs? did you get a new X/H pipe? i have a MAC pro chamber and didnt need MILs, lights have never came on..
other than that, you will need a quick reprogam.. thats about it

So it takes care of the light when running with an O/R pipe?daver01 said:u look @ sct custom chip? lub mine. no ses light, bump timing, fix speedo, shutt off egr, cures depression, etc.

I just posted the same question over there...guess he will show up and let me know...Can you get it reflashed if you add mods? I still have to have my car emissions inspected and they have gone to stricter rules here. Do you have smog inspections there? I wll probably have to put my stock H back on for the inspection.daver01 said:yup. no more ses light. ever. was worth it just for that for me. plus all the other stuff. happy with mine. pm Kenb or email him from his site @

Sucks here...they just started the stricter inspection crap this year. We live in the petro-chemical 'cancer alley' but the EPA mandated stricter car emissions inspections. Go figure.

Hey Daver01. So you had a good experience with Ken over at ModularDepot?
I am in the process of ordering the SCT Flasher. We have been e-mailing back and forth all week, hes been really cool and is real helpful

Please don't lump all MIL Eliminators into one catagory. Over the last 4 years, our splice in mil eliminators have had less than a 1/2 of 1 percent failure rate, and I have yet to have a customer walk away unhappy. While I can't speak for our competition, we've had to warranty less than 5 units last year with well over 2000 sold. Plus, they are half the price.
However, a chip is also a good option.

Thanks Milenko...I have that one.
HuskerCobra,
I just figure if I'm gonna spend nearly 300 bucks for Speedcal, MIL's and Timing adjuster I might as well go with the chip.
