Morning Horse Heads. As you may know, I run nitrous in my 2013 Mustang GT 5.0 manual. My systems works just fine at 6000 elevation. I do, however, go to lower altitudes at times and would like to be able to remove some global timing and perhaps a few more degrees at WOT. Along comes Bama Performance (through American Muscle) offering a "Tunes for Life" program for $150 ( you need a working tuner - in my case an SCT X4 ) that promises to give you tunes with User Adjustable inputs such as global timing, WOT timing, rear axle ratio, speed limit, rev limit, etc. I signed up. I received two tunes. A 91 Perf and a 93 Race. I had an issue for a bit that I had put my tuner in Demo Mode so the tunes were not loading. Fixing that got the tunes to load. The 93 R tune does fine to 3000 rpm. At that point it goes completely bonkers. Throttle response goes away, backfiring and very rough engine behaviour. Release throttle and for 2 to 3 seconds nothing happens, etc. I am now data logging for American Muscle to try and help them figure out that their "tuning specialist" is a quack. Additionally, for some reason they do not want to provide me a stock tune with user adjustments like their custom tunes even though the stock tune is what they start with. Does anyone have any useful advice about this short of going to HP tunes and buying a tuner and a couple of credits? I had SCT examine my ecu and tuner and all was perfect according to them. Does anyone know if American Muscle has an experienced ford tuner on staff? If so, who and how to contact directly by email would be very helpful.
