Been working on the kids 88 GT, got a used "built-up" motor, it smells rich, and idles bad after it's warmed up. Are these injectors color coded? without knowing the exact "build" of the motor, hard to say how moded it is - although it's faster than our 88 LX(and My 88TC)

See the sticky "Help me create the Surging Idle Checklist" at the top of the forum for help with your idle problems.

Do what jrichker suggested. I had the same problem when I installed my new engine, It idled ok until it warmed up then it wouldn't idle at all. It was also hard to start when the engine was warm. I ended up getting a new IAC and IAC Adjuster plate. It solved my problem. P.S. the IAC Adjuster Plate part # has changed, its now # F2PZ-9F939-A. I paid $37.63 at the local Ford Dealer. The IAC itself was half the price at Napa than the dealer.

Good luck
