when i ordered it i used the rebate gomac for 20 off but it didnt show up on anything but said it was successfully applied any help is welcome. oh yeah how hard is this damn thing to install
I have heard its a bit tight but that it looks great and is worth it. The jury is still out on MAC's dyno numbers.....a bit hard to believe but there is independent testing going on (fellow stangnetters). Let us all know how you did with this install. I am going to order mine next week......Peace out
yah it is a tight fit because everything is bigger than the stock pieces.....it all fits perfectly though.....but its really not that hard to install....no instructions for it though...but its pretty self explanatory (sp?)
I just installed the Mac Str8 shot system using my OEM MAF.
Install was easy! Make sure they send you the gasket that goes between the Stock MAF and the Flange piece that you bolt to the MAF. ( thats if your not getting the system with thier MAF).
I really do notice that accelaration is better compared to the OLD Mac cold air Into the fenderwell intake.
The gomac was for the Straight Shot with the MAF. When you order the Straight Shot only it only applies I believe to the shipping costs. Free shipping with 4.95 handling fee. Mine was a pain in the A... The inlet tube was 1.25" too long. Oh well. Lets just say it fits now.
Im still waiting on some dyno numbers before I plop down the funds for it. It sounds like it would do good when combined with one of the plenums out now. Anyone know if the plenum would cause fitment issues when combined with say a 70 or 75 mm tb?
I had trouble do to the fact the inlet tube was too long. With the kit layed out in the engine compartment the inlet tube would overlap the MAF by 1". It would fit but it caused very ugly bind at the throttle body. I ended up cutting 1.25" off the tube for it to fit. Now looks perfect. Everything is in the right place. I will post pictures of the problem I was talking about tomorrow.
