Well SWMBO has been after me to get rid of my '05 GT for some time now and get a Euro luxury car. She hated driving the thing because it was a stick. Well I was able to talk her into a Vert GT w/automatic. A fair compromise in my mind. Well so we went down to my Dealership today and put in the order. A black on black Cali Special w/2 tone black/partchment interior & auto tranny. Options she wanted were the DVD nav, heated seats, active anti-theft, and ambient lighting. Sticker totaled out to $39755. I'm sure going to miss my '05 GT Stick coupe, but it sure as heck beats a Mercedes C class or BMW 325.

What did you actually have to pay? I am curious as to how much a dealer would discount that?
Congratulations, sounds like a great car just in time for spring.

I have a real good relationship with my dealer. This will be my 8th car from them and most of the folks there are close friends. My actual price will be Invoice less the $2k discount currently offered by Ford (around $34k). Car should be in around the end of April. Maybe Ford will have increased the discount by then. That would be sweet!!

Sounds like a very nice car Don't worry too much about it being an auto(unless you will really miss rowing the gears), because Brenspeed makes a really fine tune for the auto From what I've read on here, so does Bamachips.

There is just something about the sound of running through the gears on a stick. Now I won't miss the stick in traffic. I think it's a nice compromise and now maybe SWMBO will drive the Stang more.

Oh Yeah, they are nice to have when out with the top down on a cool night. Otherwise the constant bitching from the passenger seat would force me to put the top up. Now she has plenty of time to gripe about my driving instead.

I'm really just kidding, but the car is definitely not her idea of a good use of funds. I do like the heated seats in the convertible myself but I kind of wish they would stay on more than 10 minutes. Maybe someone could do a thread woth a writeup for defeating the timer on these. A high/low switch would be nice too.

Good choice. Nice to see someone who doesn't appreciate German blandness. Hell, why do you think we take so much trouble to import Mustangs here.

I would take my stang over a 325 any day, but I hope you aren't including the M6 when you mention german blandness, that is a pretty sweet ride.

This is true! I can't wait until spring, I'm gonna feel like a kid on Christmas morning the first time I get to take her back out. The burnouts in the driveway every few weeks to keep everything working are fun in their own little way though.
