I replaced my springs with FMS B springs. The rears look great, but the front of the car sits WAY too low, it must have dropped like 1.75". I am considering putting my original springs back on the front to bring the nose of the car up. These springs have about 140k miles on them. Just wondering if springs wear out. Will they function as they did new, or should I try and find some different springs. I have also considered getting a 1" spring rubber and putting it on the front B springs. If I do this, shoud I put it at the top, bottom, or in the middle of the spring, or would it matter?

I had a long thread in Talk about this very issue (I was also concerned about the drop, though I was going to use C's).

Rubber isnt the answer IMHO. Now I know you can get spacers/shims for the rear but I dont know if they make them for the front.

Personally, I'd get springs that are less radical and then sell the C's (the fronts anyhow). Springs definately degrade over time - I wouldnt waste time/effort reinstalling the old springs.

Good luck.

here's my B's right after installation....i know what your sayin..i had to get C/C plates

Krafty, 68 bucks for a set of springs? Do share. :p

When I mentioned spacers before, I should have stated that they're metal spacer s(I just re-read my first post and thought it could be misinterpreted).

Good luck.

Good luck getting those in the springs... i was going to do that to bring up my front a hair with my FMS C... the springs are to compressed to get them in and there is no tool to get them to spread apart! Also i thought the same way when i got mine installed! I thought it was way too low... but now i like it and it looks good! Just might want to try to give it some time...
