Original tooling fenders for 65-66

Hey,
I've been trying to find real nice used fenders for my car and the ones I find are either damaged or are $350ea. I might as well buy new. Does anyone have eny experience with the original tooling fenders for 65-66? I've heard that the body lines aren't quite as good due to the tooling being so old/used. I've also heard that to make the headlight extension fit right that the spot welds for the headlight bucket must be drilled and the fender pulled in. Can anyone confirm this?

I put an original tooling fender on my driver side.
Body guy said it was an excellent fit.
Here's the gaps and shots in various paint stage to see gaps.

I have a set of nice OEM fenders that I did not use, want $400. I can ship by Greyhound, its the cheapest. I cut my original fenders to accept a wide tire and kept these as backups but I am now selling the car and do not need them anymore.

Thank's for posting the photo's of the original tooling fender's ,I was curious to see the fit ,The pair of O.T. '66 fender's I ordered are being delivered tomorrow, after going through a bad experience with my GTO fender (bad repro) I was nervous about spending $650 for my '66... Cool..

I don't know the color code.....but I can prob get it.

Its not OEM nor custom color.

Its a no name color from that manufacture. I have to dig the can out and read the label
