anyone who thinks fox body mustangs will be collectors items is nuts!

way too many of them made to ever be collectible. at 200,000, give or take, per year produced, you will be waiting till long after we are dead to call it "collectible".

nice car, for sure! collectors item....not a chance!

if any of them will ever be worth anything significant, it will be the 1993 cobra cars. (by significant, i mean worth more than 20 grand or so)

the fox cars are cheap, fast, reliable, easy to find parts for, easy to work on, fun, PLENTIFUL, cool etc..... but definitely NOT collectible.

I agree they made a ton of them so the run of the mill fox won't be anything to get all hot and bothered about for some time. I disagree on the statement that cobras will be the only sought after fox. I believe the '79 pace car, feature cars and saleen fox bodies will be hot items to name a few.

i would agree with you on the other limiter production stuff.

the car on ebay is a unique item with the ultra low mileage. it will, most likely, be stored and preserved by an enthusiast.

my statement about the fox mustangs never being "collectible" is meant for the average, you see one every day, mustang. (even if it's a super clean 30,000 to 50,000 mile example)

i'm the original owner of a 91 strawberry red, black interior, fox with 55,000 miles on it. i drove it off the lot with 8 miles on the odometer. over the last 20 years i've molested it into a full blown drag car. it's probably one of the cleanest drag cars you will see. i think it would be cool if these cars became "collectible" but the numbers will never work out that way.

absolutely! one of the best things about the fox bodies is that they are readily available and cheap.

good ?. How many chevy novas or chevelles do you see driving around. I see them from time to time but not very much. I seen alot when was in high school in the '80's but they are pretty much gone now.

Figure these #'s since I could find them pretty easy, approx. 856,000 chevy II/ novas made from '62-'74 and production on that platform ending in '79 over a million where made easy and approx 3.263 million chevelles made during '64 -'72. even though a majority of these aren't worth anything the fact that you don't see them is what turns heads or gets looks at shows, etc. it's a car people remember from a period in thier lives and brings back memories and when you don't see them has much it means even more when you get to see one again. I say the fox #'s are shrinking but with production ending in '93 it still has time to go but it is getting there, just wait even another 10yrs or a little less.

I don't see why you say Foxes will never (or not any time soon) be collectible. If Mustangs built in the '60s are collectible now, there is no reason that a V8 Fox won't be collectible in the next 10-20 years or so. The production thing is irrelevant, Ford made about 560,000 Mustangs in '65, 600,000 in '66, 470,000 in 67, and 300ish in 68 and 69.

That's a lot of Mustangs, and those things fetch decent coin when they're in good condition.

Sure, the limited-run stuff will always demand a higher price, but I think we're going to start seeing a steady growth in the cost of plain-jane GTs and V8 LXs in the next few years.

It would extremely rare thing where I' am to find:

1) unmolested stock
2) not ridden hard
3) wrecking yard find

If i had the cash I'd buy it. But what fun would it be to stare at through the climate controlled bubble I'd have it in?
