What work are you looking to have done?

Personally, I stay away from Powered By Ford. I don't think they really treat their customers right.

There is a shop on Orange Blossom Trail between Colonial and Silver Star; I don't remember the name though.
I was looking at a '94 'vert from a guy that owned the Semi-dealer next door to them and saw Shelby's and Boss cars among late models. The guy told me they do good work, but he may have been biased(maybe he knew them really well ).

That's pretty much all I know of.

There's Lamotta performance on 17-92 in Longwood. He has a solid racing reputation and a lot of local Mustangs have been tweeked by him.

He does everything from basic bolt ons to full turbo systems. You may have seen him in 5.0 magazine. They use his shop and mechanics every so often.

I would suggest Real Street Performance www.realstreetperformance.com
Its Jay Meagher new performance shop. He does quality work and he really knows his stuff. Anyone local knows he worked over at lamottas for years.

I appreciate the suggestions. Do any of these shops do a simple tune-up? I do not have tools anymore & live in an apartment. I want someone who knows to blow out the spark plug wells prior to pulling a plug, use anti-sieze etc. Regular shops could ruin the engine.

Yes, his original shop is in Maryland and is still open. It is run by one of his original employees. Herman though personally relocated to Florida and opened another shop there which he runs. His work is top notch and everyone raves about him. You can contact him at 813-241-2783. I think his shop is in or around Tampa though.

I contacted Jay Meagher at Real Street Performance via email. He said they will do a simple tune-up, just call a few days before.

Jay is a honest guy, one of the few people I trust to work on my mustangs. As a auto technician myself I am very wary about who I let work on my own cars.

I agree. I used to do my own tune ups but I do not have my tools and a place to do this any more. I cannot trust a "regular" mechanic to know that you must blow out the spark plug wells prior to plug removal, use anti-sieze on the threads, and a torque wrench when setting the plugs do to piss poor threads on our 4.6L heads. A regular mechanic will certainly screw something up, I'm sure.

Where do you live?
I live in the Metro-West section between Kirkman & Hiawassee.

Jay is a stand up guy and did all the work on my 1993 Mustang. He's been bouncing around for a while after leaving Lamottas, working on Supras and such, and I'm glad to hear he's finally set up his own place. AND that it's right around the corner! I'm just down the street in Longwood, as well.

I'm glad I stumbled on this thread, I hadn't heard the name of his new place yet and didn't have a way to get in touch with him.

Now I just have to figure out what I want to have to do to my Cobra... I'm thinking KB.

Thanks for looking out for me guys.. It's been a long nine months so far. I have had the pleasure of building two 1k Supras, a turbo fox kit along with some Viper work. I will still be working on Mustangs as I have for the past 10years... I just want to fill the need of other speed freaks also I made the mistake of not taking a client list with me when I left the other place but the ones that enjoy dealing with me are finding their way over here. If there is anything anyone needs in the Mustang community you can find me here.

Are you doing any chassis work like subframe connectors and such?

Also, are you the guy I bought a Trick Flow intake off of about 6 months ago when you were at Lamotta's?
