Looking for a performance shop in San Diego, CA to weld in some MM Full Length subframe connectors on my 1990 GT.

I'm aware of JBA Speedshop, and did visit their shop for a quote today. It was a little higher than I was expecting. Just curious if anyone else has any good recommendations. I'm in Central San Diego, but if someone has a good recommendation, I don't mind driving around the greater San Diego area. I'd like to keep out of North County, etc. as i'm on a time crunch with work, etc. so not looking to spend too much of my 'free' time driving somewhere.

Bonus points if a shop is near Pacific Beach.

Haven’t done it yet but did find a guy to do it. I contacted Maverick Motorsports and they referred me to a welder they outsource for some of their work.

Hopefully will get this done sometime in January and will report back.

Curious if you ended up finding shop to weld the subframes. I’m in a similar boat and didn’t want to spend 800 bucks to get them welded in by JBA. I’m also in PB!
Do you have the red convertible? I’ve only seen one other Fox in PB at the corner of Foothill and Cardeno.

At least JBA is consistent, that’s what they quoted me too.

Appreciate the feedback fellas.
I have the 93 Vermillion red coupe. I’ve seen a little old lady driving the red summer edition though! Surprised I haven’t seen your GT. I’m off Garnett and Pendleton but keep the car in the garage. My car is completely stock and I’ve been collecting parts for the last couple years and finally ready to start installing. I just don’t trust my welding abilities on the frame.

Florida plates.

Clean notch! You probably haven’t seen me because mine is stowed away under a car cover 99% of the time. I did drive it to the gym today but that’s a rarity.

I don’t have a date setup yet but when I do and get the SFCs installed I’ll let you know how it goes. Still expensive at $600 but better than JBA.

Garnet and Pendleton with Florida plates, military?

Yessir! California native though. Keeping the car registered in Florida for obvious reasons. Good luck with the subframe connectors and keep me updated please. I’m no master mechanic but if you ever need a hand let me know.

Appreciate it! I’m in the same stage as you, parts gathering.

Got my subframe connectors welded in. I asked the guy if i could share his information for anyone else who wants to have any welding work done in the San Diego area and he was cool with it, so here's his information:

John
818-384-8625

His shop is down in the Rosecrans area by Sports Arena. Super cool dude, would recommend.

That’s awesome man, are you happy with the work. He has installed these before? (Suspension loaded)
Very happy with the work. This was his first time doing full length subframes on a Fox (or any car i think...) and my car had some alignment challenges due to my front drivers subframe being pretty beat up (front subframe wasn't lining up correctly with the rear subframe). He went out of his way to talk to MM support and everything. He had my car for 3 days while figuring everything out, but when i asked if i could share his information he said the next go around should be smoother/quicker now that he knows what he's doing.

He did charge a little extra (we agreed on the additional cost) due to having to fabricate some additional brackets due to the aforementioned alignment issues, so while it was cheaper than JBA still, it was pretty expensive at the end. He also doesn't have a drive on lift, but got the car supported correctly using some big blocks of wood for the front and jackstands for the rear. I have no issues opening/closing my doors or anything so i trust he had the car/suspension all properly loaded.
